Hailing from Athens, Georgia this group name gives anybody that grew up in the 1990′s and had cable television a double take. The fun and quirky four-man ensemble embody a revitalization in the indie-rock genre and their music speaks volumes, either with their truly experimental sound or flat out weirdness.
The band is an eclectic group whose soul purpose is to, as they say in their mission statement, “first and foremost make people dance.” And boy do they, Reptar funnels positive energy directly into your ears through rhymthic hooks and the lead-singer, Andrew McFarland’s ridiculous vocal deliveries. Its as if you took pieces of Passion Pit, Animal Collective, and Vampire weekend and haphazardly melded them together to form a group which simply embodies fun. So take a listen and fight off the innate feeling to dance and celebrate life which will follow you long after the music has stopped.
